John and Sheila Jones have been running the local whist event at Ysceifiog Village Hall for the last few winter seasons. Even though the 2024/2025 winter season has just recently concluded, both John and Shelia are thinking ahead for the 2025/2026 winter season. This is what they said about whist:
Commencing September 2025 (Dates to be arranged), come and join us to play whist every other Monday evening, between 7pm – 9pm.
For those who don’t know, whist is a traditional card game played by 4 people who play in pairs.
No previous experience required as we encourage beginners and experienced alike as full support and tuition will be given in an inclusive friendly environment. Prizes will be awarded to the winners including a raffle.
Proceeds from these events will be donated to St Mary’s church and Ysceifiog Village Hall to support the community.
Light refreshments are provided as well as a Christmas Whist which includes a buffet, seasonal music and an option of Christmas attire.
